The marketing team at Gucci has decided to accompany the launch of these watches with an ad campaign that plays off of meme culture. These witty and artistic memes subsequently target younger audiences through humorous copy and photographs curated to look like popular memes.
These posts have been featured on Gucci’s instagram and have received both positive and negative feedback from followers of the brand. Some people are cringing, but the memes are definitely catching people’s attention.
Personally, I find this campaign to make Gucci feel more approachable for younger clientele, and entertaining all at the same time. With their memes behind them, the youthfulness of this new line is anything but understated.
