Spring Break (wellness) Shots

Don’t get it twisted. These shots are actually good for you.

So we know that Dallas is full of juice shops that offer wellness shots. I am going to show you where you can get them, what they do and how to make your own.

My favorite juice shot of all time is the Ginger Cayenne shot. I get mine from Nektar, and they give you an apple slice as your chaser. Although Nektar is close, I decided to make my own so I can have one whenever I please.

Ginger Cayenne Shot

  • 6 lemons
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 6 in ginger root

First, squeeze the juice from 6 lemons into a bowl, and add the cayenne. Next, peel the ginger with the back of a spoon and grate it into the lemon juice mixture. Let it sit for a while, then strain the mixture to get rid of all the excess ginger.

Pour into containers and enjoy for the week !

The ginger cayenne lemon shot boosts your immune system and serves as cold and allergy relief.

Next, I love the Turmeric Tonic shot from the Juice Bar. It helps as an anti-inflammatory and is perfect with Spring Break coming up.

Turmeric Tonic Shot

  • 4 oranges
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

Do the same as above, juice the oranges, and add the spices. These shots are so delicious and bright and sure to make you feel better after a full meal.

Next, I love making charcoal shots. I’m not sure if you can buy these anywhere, but here’s how I make them.

Charcoal Shots

  • 2 lemons
  • 1/2 tsp activated charcoal powder
  • 1 tsp honey

Juice the lemons, and add the honey and charcoal powder. Shake the mixture or mix it extremely well until all of the honey and charcoal have dissolved into the lemon juice.

Take these after a long night, or throughout spring break to help keep your body in line with all of the festivities.

Whether you decide to make your own, or buy juice shots, they’re a great way to reboot your system. With spring break coming up, I already have my fridge stocked with the ginger cayenne so that my immune system doesn’t fail on me at the beach.
