Tips and tricks to ensure you and your friends have the best getaway ever. From working out, eating, shopping, and clubbing, where better to plan an escape, than trendy Los Angeles?
Everyone loves a vacation, especially a vacation with their best friends. Planning a weekend away can be stressful if you don’t know the area. This article will have you covered for a weekend to remember in LA, as well as provide good advice to follow when booking a trip in general.
- Make a daily itinerary. Start your day off with a workout. Corepower Yoga and SoulCycle are my favorite workouts in Los Angeles. Another great exercise is hiking Runyon Canyon. I’m sure anywhere you are traveling, there is a way to utilize the elements and nature around you for a fun morning grind.
- Map out your meals. In big cities like Los Angeles, there are so many options for food. Talk to locals, scope out Instagram, or stalk celebrities to find some iconic places in that city. Most high-end restaurants require a reservation, so book these about a month in advance. For Los Angeles, here are a few of my favorite, popular spots:
For a Morning/Afternoon Snack
Alfred Tea Room– Kourtney Kardashian posted the infamous red sign on her Instagram story, and I knew I had to make a stop.
Coffee Dose– I have always seen this coffee cup on VSCO and wondered where this place is. While I was shopping on Melrose, I happened to bump into it, and thank god I did. The perfect mid-shopping spree pick me up!
The Coffee Bean– Hands down my favorite coffee ever. Maybe not the most aesthetically pleasing place, but if you want a bomb cup of coffee look no further.
Malibu Farm– A great excuse to make a small detour to Malibu. Enjoy a morning on the water as you eat clean, healthy foods. Do a bit of shopping on the pier after your meal, and you are good to go.
The Cabana Cafe– If you aren’t staying at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel, you must make a stop there- your Instagram will thank you. Enjoy a poolside meal with a very high chance of spotting one of your favorite stars.
Jon & Vinny’s– A casual Italian restaurant with some incredible food. The spicy fusilli never disappoints.
The Ivy– I could not think of a cuter restaurant if I tried. They offer a glass of champagne, on the house, as soon as you walk in.
The Nice Guy– Drake owns this restaurant, so it is automatically the coolest spot in LA. You eat in almost complete darkness, for the privacy of the celebrities, and no photos are allowed inside. Do not leave without taking some pics in the iconic photo booth.
Catch– Fresh, gourmet seafood served on a beautiful rooftop. The classic “Hit Me” dessert tastes even better than it looks.
Skinny Bitch Pizza– Guilt-free cauliflower pizza that tastes DELICIOUS. I am the last person on earth to eat vegetables, but I promise this is my favorite pizza. Order in one afternoon when you are lounging by the pool.
Sugarfish– Calling all sushi lovers! You will be obsessed with Sugarfish. I personally am not a fan of sushi, but the display made me want to dive right in.
The Big Chill– An LA classic. Frozen yogurt with as many toppings as you can imagine. Most famous for their cookie dough.
Go Greek– A healthier dessert option. Real greek yogurt, frozen, with yummy clean toppings.
3. Schedule your shopping. Los Angeles, like many other cities, does not have all the good shopping in one place. Rodeo Drive is famous for high-end designer stores. Melrose is a great street to visit the trendy shops at the moment, p.s. There is a The RealReal store. Santa Monica is another fun shopping area with super affordable stores. My personal favorite designer consignment store is Wasteland. You will always find hidden gems in that store. I picked up my dream pair of Off-White booties.
4. You can’t have a girls’ weekend without a wild night out. Finding clubs and exploring the nightlife in new cities is so difficult. I recommend going public on Instagram as soon as you land, and post pictures and stories with location tags. Chances are there will be a club promoter sliding in your DM’s who will invite you to a VIP table at one of the coolest clubs in LA. Make sure to visit Hyde, Bootsy Bellows, Nightingale, Poppy, and 1Oak.
Following these tips will lead to the best girls trip ever. Los Angeles is a perfect city for a young, hip vibe. I hope you love it as much as I do!
