Parkas to Politics: NYFW 2017 Street Style Thus Far

February 15, 2017 by

From bare stomachs to oversized puffer coats, the street style of NYFW 2017 has been all over the place thus far. While some fashionistas are choosing to ignore the icy NYC conditions, others are embracing the cold and bundling up in their winter’s finest. A few notable trends have been emerging from the street style thus far, and I’ll be interested to see what the rest of this week has in store.

Bella Hadid has been rocking short skirts and bare abs during her brief moments off the runway, and if she is freezing, she most certainly does not show it.

Bella isn’t the only one who has been ignoring the harsh temps, several other showgoers are privileging fashion over comfort and bravely stomping the streets with exposed skin.

The next trend that I have been noticing on the streets this season is Gucci. Gucci Gucci Gucci. NYFW attendees are showing their undying loyalty to the luxury brand and I am on board AF.

This chick is Gucci’ed OUT. Her embroidered cross body and sky high platforms are to die for.

While some are choosing a Gucci down to the socks vibe, others are using the street runway to send a political message. In response to Trump’s latest Presidential efforts, fashionistas are taking to the streets to display their opinion and provoke change.

Now let’s talk coats. Those who are not going for the Bella Hadid exposed route have been busting out some fabulous outerwear that are a must see.

I love seeing showgoers having fun with their winter wardrobes. From parkas to politics, the street style looks thus far have been far from disappointing. Looking forward to the rest of the week!
