Celebrity tattoo artist Oliver Peck has added another striking feature to Deep Ellum, and it isn’t in ink this time…
Peck’s vegan taqueria and coffee shop, Tiki Loco, opened its doors to the public in early October. According to members of the Tiki Loco team, Peck saw an opening for quick and accessible vegan cuisine in the Deep Ellum community and sought to change that. And along came Tiki Loco with more than enough instagrammable spaces to fit the bill.
As for the menu, tacos are customizable with choices of soy-based protein or vegetable options. Customers can also choose their preference of style and sauce. I went for a veggie taco with citrus chipotle and pineapple pico de gallo! This cool new spot also offers nachos and salad bowls (all vegan!) with add-ons like pumpkins seeds and ginger peach vinaigrette that I cannot wait to try in the future.
With my taste buds experiencing just the right amount of sensory overload, I decided to pick an item from the wide selection of coffee and juices. The restaurant partners with and exclusively sells White Rock Coffee. I went for the most popular drink and ordered the Aaroneous Dream. This blended iced latte was a little sweet for me, but definitely a good option for anyone who identifies as a Frappuccino drinker. Tiki Loco also offers an extensive list of smoothies and fresh pressed juices.
I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone (vegan or non-vegan!). It’s trendy, quick, and a great excuse to get down to Deep Ellum! Happy feasting everyone.
