Formal Dress Redux

October 20, 2016 by

Whether or not formals are filling up your agenda, it never hurts to have a party dress waiting in the wings. While I think these accessories create the perfect look, each one of these dresses is so versatile. Even though it is impossible to think of now in Texas, winter is *actually* coming, and all of these dresses can take you right on into it.

While I’m not one to be match-y match-y, sometimes it works to color coordinate, like here with magenta. The little pops of magenta keep things cohesive. This dress would be trés chic with black tights in the winter, but before it gets too chilly you could funk it up with a cool pair of tennies.

This silky little number is perfect paired with velvet and vintage-inspired accessories. To dress this down, throw an oversize sweater on top, then slip on some mules for a laid-back Olsen twins vibe.

This dress is flashy in all the right ways. If you’re off to a formal, wear boho jewelry to keep the look young. While the beading may seem limiting, layering a turtleneck underneath and throwing on some classic over the knee boots would make this perfect for a daytime holiday affair.

A choker is perfect with the high neckline, and the clutch and heels keep it from feeling too buttoned up. You can make this mini more professional by adding a blazer and pairing it with pointy-toe flats.
