Music Monday: Cabo Edition

February 29, 2016 by

Just like that, spring break is at our door. Though we still have a few hurdles in our way–midterms, papers, presentations–I can see a light at the end of the tunnel (that is, a warm, tropical light). Here I’ve compiled a list of my favorite feel-good songs to guide you through midterms and into Cabo’s inviting arms. T-minus four days, people. Get excited.

TLOP: Stop & Listen

February 15, 2016 by

Kanye’s latest (and self-proclaimed) greatest is officially out… or is it? With exclusive streaming privileges to Tidal members, TLOP (The Life of Pablo) is now available on a computer near you. After the longest wait (or what felt like it), he announced its availability after performing one of the 18 tracks from the album, Ultralight Beams, on SNL this past weekend.

What do we think of TLOP? Well…

About Nati Bru

Pint-sized Cuban, born and raised in the 305. If you don't know the area code, look it up. I spend my free time arguing over which Kanye album is his greatest work and which character from Game of Thrones should be brought back from the dead. I would rather stay in from a night out on the town if there's a promising SNL host. I am most likely seen with my hair up; if it's down, I'm having a rare, good hair day. Hoping to be on a TV screen near you. Stay tuned.

Music Mondays: Long Night, Early Morning Remedy

January 25, 2016 by

And just like that, we’re back. Syllabus week is over, and second semester is hitting like a ton of bricks. You may have noticed that, although drinks at Gloria’s and nights at Trophy Room haven’t lost their appeal, waking up the next morning (or afternoon) has. But fear not: We’ve got just the playlist to push you through those long moments between sleep and coffee. It’s guaranteed to remind you of a time when you didn’t resemble the Crypt Keeper, and hopefully bring you back to life. Continue Reading

Music Monday: Can’t Sleep, Only Study

October 19, 2015 by

With fall break well in the rearview, many of us are facing the harsh reality that is midterm season (think long nights in Fondren, early mornings in Fondren, eating meals in Fondren–you get the picture). And since there are two long weeks between now and our mothers’ comforting embraces (or wraths, depending on your scores) I thought I’d give you something a little on the pop side to keep you going through this trying time. Happy studying!

FALL BREAKERS

October 9, 2015 by

Fall break is FINALLY here and I think we can all agree it is much needed. Wether you’ll be couped up for a long car ride or stranded in the sky, traveling is the perfect oppurtunity to discover new music and generally cacth up on the random aspects of your life you can’t otherwise find time for. So, plug up your headphones or take over the AUX cord bc this playlist has got the ‘jamz’. With a little something for everyone, the vibe is a slightly electronic (sorry I’m biased), but totally the mood we’re feeling entering this mini hiatus. Enjoy and leave a comment if you have any tracks we should be listening too.
