New York Fashion week has come and gone, and has left me using most of my free time to look through the amazing collections and drool worthy street style ensembles. Here are the SMU Stylists favorite picks from the week:

Celebrity stuck in a Joe-Shmo body. Loves: High Ceilings, Rose Wednesdays, maximalist accessories. Hates: Crocs, horror movies, when people say the word "nippy." Currently working on my fear of online shopping and waiting for the addition of the disco ball emoji.

About Cairo Kim

If I'm not eating sushi or binge watching my newest Netflix addiction you can probably find me at soul cycle or in soul cycle attire. Obnoxious, I know. Originally from sunny California and infected with the travel bug at a very young age, I'm just happy to be here!

Who Watches What

Everyone has those few shows they could watch over and over and then one more time again. TV has gotten so good these days we can barely keep up with it! Here a few of our favorites to keep you in the know:

hey, DALLAS

September 27, 2016 by

The Big D is clearly one of the best cities out there. We basically have it all- the restaurants, cafes, bars, parks, shops- yet here at SMUStyle we still have a request or two. We believe there’s a tiny bit room for improvement and ahhh if only Dallas had these places, everything would be so much better.

Farewell NYFW

September 20, 2016 by

Before everyone begins analyzing London Fashion Week (then Paris…then Milan…) we thought we should go through NYFW with a fine-tooth comb. At our meeting this past weekend, we discussed our favorite shows and each member picked their end-all-be-all favorite look.

I was thankful that we we continued to move further and further from the “normcore” and “sporty” trends of seasons past, and continued with the “more is more” mantra of last season: voluptuous silhouettes, sequins on sequins, dresses over pants, textures galore…the list goes on. Aside from the irritating abundance of off-the-shoulder tops, designers seemed to beat to their own drum. This is how fashion week should be–and is evident in our picks below. Continue Reading

Welcome back ‘stangs!

While we’re all collapsing back into the grind (but still crawling out for boulevards and Barley), we’d like to take a moment to reminisce on the good ole days of summer and dig up the details of our squad’s estival adventures. Happy first week of classes, lovies!

**SPOILER ALERTS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T SEEN IT**

This needs no introduction. I can honestly say that each one of these thoughts actually came from my brain as I watched “Lemonade” at 1am this week. I took notes, and here they are.

Wow, They’re Not as Boring as I Thought

April 14, 2016 by

One unknown fact about me is that I’m v interested in the British monarchy, and by v interested, I really mean OBSESSED. I have my mom to thank for this as I grew up with two Pembroke Welsh Corgis respectively named Duchess and Thatcher (English names ie Margaret Thatcher duh), woke up at 4am to watch Kate and Will’s wedding, and cried a little when I got to tour Kensington Palace this summer (no joke).

Oh, did I mention I also like to research the bloodlines in my free time? yep.
