Happy Valentine’s Day my loves. The day of love just got a little bit sweeter. This year Cupid says “that’s hot” and “YAS I do.” This year Cupid’s name is Paris Hilton, and boy oh boy does she have a treat for you.
We all understand the stress of being away from your trusted hometown hairdresser. This incredible human is not only your hairdresser, but they are your best friend/therapist who will give you their honest opinion on any topic discussed (i.e. to break up with the boyfriend or to not go for the bangs). Finding a perfect hairdresser to trust with your life is no easy feat. What is even scarier, is the fear of a bad haircut.
So naturally, given the reasons listed above among countless others, trying to find a hairdresser in a new city can be incredibly daunting. That’s why I figured I would give you the gift that keeps on giving – a list of the best people and places in Dallas (according to my trusted, fabulous friends) to get your hair done!
We all have that one friend who lives for all things celebrity and pop-culture. They’re the ones that always know about new music and trends and LIVE to implement them into their own daily lives. During this holiday season, we must remember these friends and gift them with the tools to be a pop-culture queen. Here are some of my suggestions!
If you’re like me, then you know that anytime it drops below 65 degrees, it’s freezing. My friends used to laugh and say, “it’s not truly winter until Sarah shows up to school in Uggs.” So now that we are (finally) facing frigid temps here in Dallas, I’d like to suggest some places, items and ways to snuggle up and stay warm for winter.
Sitting at a desk, whether it be in class or studying on your own, for hours on end can be exhausting and uncomfortable. Being a student involves a lot of said sitting, as well as a lot of running around between classes. Putting on the wrong outfit the morning of an intense and hectic academic day has the power to decimate your mood, steal your focus and hinder your ability to properly get sh*t done. The key to being cool, calm, collected and ready to tackle the day involves soft, breathable fabrics and layers, layers, layers.
As the leaves change and crisp air replaces the Texas humidity, an incredibly fashionable new student begins their Junior year at SMU and her name is Mary-Bennett Sigal. MB happens to be my best friend and roommate, so I decided to invade her closet (walk down the hall) and pick her brain about her favorites when it comes to all things style!
Crushed under boulder-like textbooks in a backpack, hopelessly abandoned in the back of an Uber, or neglected and dusty under a dorm room bed, the life of a pair of sunglasses is often filled with abuse and is almost-always devastatingly short. If you’re like me, you’ve done your fair share of shade destruction over the years, and likely, it’s never intentional. The feeling of rage and hopelessness that comes with discovering a pair of expensive designer sunglasses are missing sends a shiver down my spine to even think about.
