WE LOVE OUR SENIORS!!!
Sadly, the time has come when we have to let them fly away from the SMUStyle nest and into the scary outside world, or as others call it, reality.
I recently purchased a jean skirt, which for me was something truly outstanding. I’ve wanted one for a long time, but I could never find the ideal one that fit me properly around my waist and wasn’t too tight or too long. Issues, man. I thought this dream skirt didn’t exist, UNTIL my friend who was visiting came home from Zara with it in hand. My dream turned into a reality, and the next day I dragged her back to try it on for myself. On a whim, I ended up buying it. lol are you really surprised?
To be honest, it took a lot of thought and soul searching to come to my decision about this new Netflix show, because I really don’t know how I feel about it. Some parts were great don’t get me wrong. I would think things like “THIS IS THE BEST SHOW EVER!” and “WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE??” and “WHERE CAN I GET THAT JACKET??” I also fully debated on starting my own Ebay store (I settled for a Poshmark instead 🙂 ). However, some parts are just straight up horrible and left me feeling some typa way. Especially the end, which is NOT a good way to end any show might I add ie leaving your audience feeling vulnerable and sad. Or maybe that’s just my attitude today?
I recently just went a week without a phone. Well, it wasn’t TECHNICALLY a week (maybe 5 days) and I wasn’t TECHNICALLY without a phone (it just wasn’t working properly). I’m overexaggerating a bit. But when people say technology is going to overcome human beings, that is very true because my iPhone 7 has feelings and the thing turned on me as if it were my best friend and I stole its boyfriend.
If you haven’t already heard, a new walk-in, order-at-the-counter restaurant just opened in Inwood Village. It goes by the name of Flower Child and serves everything from avocado toast to bowls with quinoa, sweet potatoes and an assortment of veggies. If you’re a fan of True Food but wish it was quicker and more convenient, you’ve met your match.
Eyelash extensions are quickly becoming the equivalent of the hottest pair of shoes that everyone has to have. As a personal user of these little miracles, I have to say that they have really improved my life in numerous ways, honest to god. It’s the little things in life that really make the biggest difference.
There’s nothing quite as relaxing as taking a leisurely walk through Sephora or Ulta. You don’t know what you’re looking for, nor do you really need anything, yet you still leave with a full face and more. I know it always makes me feel so much better when I have a new lipgloss on. Next time you’re browsing the counters at Neimans or Blue Mercury, be sure to pick up some our current faves!
Happy International Women’s Day Everyone (esp all you women out there)!!!!! Here’s a day to us, to celebrate all that we do every day to contribute to society and the lives of those around us. Cheers to us!
My style has transformed throughout the years. No joke. I went from preppy, to full on hippie (my friends mocked me junior year for wearing flare jeans, LITTLE did they know I was just 4 years ahead of the trend). I then became a prepster again, up until right now, where I really can’t put a true label as to what style I fall under. It’s not boho, not chic, not edgy; I have no clue what category I fall under. When I asked my friend Brooke, she was at a loss for words as well. Oh well, nevertheless, I don’t consider myself “girly”, but ruffles are one element that I can’t resist.
