As we settle back in to the hectic school-year schedule, it can be easy to get caught up in work, working out, and working up the courage to test out that new ID at Homebar. As the year progresses, I find myself scheduling my day down to the minute, including my “free time” (I miss recess). But it’s important to make a little time to enjoy this beautiful life before the senioritis is fully out of control, so here are some ideas for the week if you’re feeling a smidge less than motivated.
Once upon a time, in the mystical land of Masterchef, Chefs Jennie Kelley and Ben Starr formed bonds of everlasting friendship while straining under the relentless sweat-spewing, anger machine of Gordon Ramsay (who Ben promises is truly angelic off-screen but we’ll believe it when we see it). Many moons later, Jennie and Ben joined forces and embarked on a new adventure, the creation of Dallas’ most beloved underground restaurant.
Last week, as I lay under harsh, artificial lighting having a *few* dozen false and fabricated eyelashes glued to my own to replace the masochistic and heinous institutional pain that is mascara, I had a revelation. I was actually enjoying this. I was enjoying laying flat on my back for an hour while a stranger carefully poked and prodded at my eyelids with glue and plastic. And it was all thanks to Anna Faris and the iTunes Podcast store.
