When the temp drops below 65º I simply get giddy. Fall is my favorite season because the styling opportunities are endless…not too cold for a leather skirt and not too hot for a feathered jacket. And to be honest, I really don’t mind if I break a small lip sweat on the way to the restaurant wrapped in a chinchilla trench coat. (Just kidding – I don’t own one of those and I fully stand with the faux fur movement, but you get the gist of my excitement.)
Check out a few of these unexpected ways to take your fall/winter style from a 9 to an 11.
Sheer tights are a great little accent to any fall or winter ensemble. Throw them on under a skirt and boots for a pop of sleek, understated sexiness. Snag your pair at Princess Polly for $14.
Faux fur hair ties are the perfect way to fall-ify your ponytail. Snuggly, soft, and won’t leave a crease in your pony! You’ll be drowning in compliments. Etsy and Amazon have tons of colors to choose from.
A cape is a fall/winter necessity in my books. Its timeless silhouette will have you looking synonymous to Audrey Hepburn stepping out onto city streets of NYC in the 50s. A cape also lets you wear your fav sweater underneath without having to jam your arms into sleeves. Theory, Kobi Halperin, and Junya Watanabe have stunning cape designs. They’re a little on the pricey side, but the cape is a wardrobe addition that will last you the rest of your life.
The newsboy cap/beret is for the fall fashion daredevils, but with the right outfit and occasion this accessory is to die for. I’ll go ahead and say this could be a major fad, but it doesn’t hurt to buy an inexpensive one and test it out! Check out these berets at Revolve and Urban Outfitters: Newsboy caps at Princess Polly and Nordstrom Rack.
Wishing you a snuggly, fashion-forward fall!
