4 Tips for Staying Cozy for Winter

November 9, 2017 by

If you’re like me, then you know that anytime it drops below 65 degrees, it’s freezing. My friends used to laugh and say, “it’s not truly winter until Sarah shows up to school in Uggs.” So now that we are (finally) facing frigid temps here in Dallas, I’d like to suggest some places, items and ways to snuggle up and stay warm for winter.

1. Mind your Head

Deciding between keeping your head warm and having decent looking hair is a dilemma that is unique to this season, but if you’re willing to commit to a hat for the sake of keeping your temples toasty, then I have a suggestion for you.

Fur beanies are an adorable, fun and stylish way to actually keep your head warm.

Here’s a pic of my friend, Chloe, and I in our go-to furry hats!

2. Grab a Mug

During the winter season, I am constantly craving not only the delicious contents but the feeling of clinching a warm mug between my frozen palms. Whether it be a seasonal chai or a classic hot chocolate, the following coffee shops have **gotchu**.

Housed somewhere between The Rose and HG Supply Co. on lower Greenville, this coffee shop is an undeniably cozy location to do work or chat with friends and stay warm. With an extensive specialty coffee menu, Mudsmith offers all you need for a bundled up study sesh.

Bird Bakery

I know right, duh. But truly, this place brings me pure joy. Bird Bakery offers a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy a toasty drink (and gain some lbs. for hibernation).

Ascension is the kind of place that prides themselves on the craftsmanship that goes into each cup of coffee. Consequently, it makes for a great locale to get your paws on a piping hot mug full of deliciousness.

3. Bundle up and Bunker Down

2 words. Barefoot Dreams. These blankets have the power to change the world of snuggling. My roommate, Ellie, prides herself on having a collection of these heavenly blankets and I can attest to the coziness.

4. Get Baking!

Get the girls together and whip up some yummies. Buzzfeed links some amazing, seasonal recipes for easy-to-make, mouthwatering treats.

Pull-Apart Brioche Cinnamon Roll Bread

Maple Ooey Gooey Butter Cake Bites (**faints**)

Hot Cocoa Cookies

With this enchanting season comes the cold, and I don’t mess around when it comes to the cold. Follow these (few, but crucial) steps to stay warm this winter, and remember, coziness is the key to success.
