Hey guys, Daniela and Shelly here— the only two willing to wake up at the crack of dawn to shop…. and think, at Target nonetheless.
That’s right— Target. Not just any day at Target, but the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target launch. We battled cockroaches (gross), Highland Park moms, and snatchy girls (and even a couple boys!) for the finds we made out with.
After spending way more than either one of us should, and one new BFF (shoot-out to our girl Mindy from the fitting room!), here’s how we styled some of our favorite pieces:
The Jet Setter
Why Daniela loves it: Not only does Shelly look like an off-the-clock actress, but she looks super comfy while at it. I really adore the pairing of the tank top with the semi-structured sweatpants – it gives off a relaxed look without looking too homeless.
Why Shelly loves it: This look is about practicality– a large carry-all tote, comfy pants to snuggle up in first class in, stylish kicks that won’t fuss as security, and a leather hat and neon shades to hide 5-AM puffy eyes.
The Serial Dater
Why Daniela loves it: The understated tuxedo outline on this simple grey tank really transforms it into a statement piece. It definitely adds that necessary je ne sais qoui to the simple flowy skirt.
Why Shelly loves it: This look perfectly combines upscale separates. Individually, each piece holds itself and yet they both work together to create a mature and polished look for day or night.
The Working Girl
Why Daniela loves it: This dress is outta control! From the zippered front, to the structured high low, and the pattern – I can’t decide what my favorite part is.
Why Shelly loves it: I. Am. Obsessed. Say goodbye tacky office wear, throw this dress on and strut your way to the corner office. The detail of this piece is absolutely astonishing but did not go unexpected with Philip Lim.
The Party Girl
Why Daniela loves it: For those nights when you kinda don’t really feel like getting dressed but still want to look stellar, this is the perfect dress to throw on! It’s light, it’s cotton, it’s comfortable. What else could you ask for?
Why Shelly loves it: Duck face? Check. Cheetah print (but not Jersey Shore-status)? Check. Studded Louboutins? Well, check, even though you can’t see ‘em. Honesty, what more could you ask for?
